PURPOSE:To enable simple and reliable detection of the rotation speed of a wheel, by a method wherein a differential means is coupled to each of front and rear wheels, and a rotation sensor is disposed in a transfer device coupled to either of the differential means. CONSTITUTION:A front differential device 40 is formed with two differential pinions 44 and 45 rotatably supported on a pinion shaft 43 mounted to a case 42, and side gears 46 and 47 for left and right wheel outputs are simultaneously geared with their respective pinions. A rear differential device 60 is also formed in an entirely similar manner described in the front differential device 40. A transfer device 50 is formed with a ring gear 51 coupled to a side gear 36 for rear wheel output of a differential device 30, and an output gear 54 coupled to the device 60. In this case, a rear wheel rotation speed sensor 95 is positioned between a pair of roller bearings for supporting a driven pinion 52 engaged with the ring gear 51.
