PURPOSE:To provide uniform polymer particles which contain no fine particles, have a three-dimensional network structure and are porous, spherical and suitable for use as a packing for chromatography, by atomizing a polymer soln. through a nozzle into a vapor phase and then introducing it into a specified coagulating agent. CONSTITUTION:A polymer soln. is atomized through the opening of a nozzle at a constant flow rate into a vapor phase as uniform liquid droplets electrically charged while applying periodic turbulence directly thereto. After they are allowed to fly over a sufficient distance, introduced into a coagulating agent which is a non-solvent for the polymer but in compatible with the solvent of the polymer soln. and has such a surface tension that it is wetted with the liquid droplets, thus obtaining uniform polymer particles which are porous and spherical and have a three-dimensional network structure and such a particle size distribution that at least 80wt% thereof is composed of particles having a particle size within + or -20% of a volume-average particle size and no particle having a particle size smaller than 5% of the volume-average particle size is contained.
