PURPOSE:To form a coated film having excellent appearance and weatherability by coating a water-base metallic paint consisting of a vinyl copolymer, crosslinking component and swellable rein particles on a base material and coating a thermosetting clear paint consisting of the copolymer and crosslinking component thereon, then curing the coating by heating. CONSTITUTION:The water-base metallic paint consisting of A) 94-30pts.wt. vinyl copolymer obtd. by copolymerizing an ethylenic monomer having an acidic group, ethylenic monomer having a hydroxyl group and other ethylenic monomer which cam be copolymerized therewith, B) 5-40pts.wt. crosslinking component which reacts with the component A) and C) 1-30pts.wt. swellable resin particles is coated on the base material subjected to primer coating and intermediate coating. The thermosetting clear paint consisting of D) 95-60pts.wt. copolymer obtd. by copolymerizing an ethylenic monomer having a hydroxyl group and other ethylenic monomer which can be copolymerized therewith and E) 5-40pts. wt. crosslinking component which reacts with the component D) is coated thereon and is cured by heating. |
