PURPOSE:To improve steering characteristics and running stability during cornering, by a method wherein during cornering of a vehicle, a cornering force ratio between front and rear wheels at the outside of cornering is detected, and according to its detecting result, a torque distribution ratio between the front and rear wheels is controlled. CONSTITUTION:During cornering of a vehicle, by means of signals from a ground clearance sensor 15 and an acceleration sensor 16, cornering forces CFf and CFr of front and rear wheels, respectively, are computed by a control unit 14. A hydraulic control valve 13 is controlled so that a ratio between drive torques Tf and Tr of front and rear wheels is adjusted to Tf/Tr=CFr/CFf. Namely, in response to a change in a cornering force ratio CFr/CFf between rear and front wheels at the outside of cornering, a torque distribution ratio between the front and rear wheels is changed. The pressure of working oil to a working oil chamber 5a of a clutch 5 located between an output shaft 2 of a power plant and a propeller shaft 6 on the rear side is regulated.
