PURPOSE:To provide an inconspicuous boundary of repair by coating the defect part of a coated surface and the periphery thereof with the same paint as a solvent type solid color paint, then coating a paint added with a low hiding pigment to the outside edge of the coated part in an uncured state. CONSTITUTION:The defect part 2 and the periphery thereof are coated with the paint 3 which is substantially the same as the paint 1 at the time of repairing the defect part 2 of the coated surface formed by the solvent type solid color paint 1. The paint 4 prepd. by adding the low hiding pigment selected from barium sulfate, calcium carbonate, clay, talc, and silica to clear paint is coated on the outside edge of the painted part in the uncured state. The painted part is dried or baked in succession there of, following which the repaired part is polished and finished. As a result, inconspicuous boundary of the repair is obtd.
