PURPOSE:To prevent torque from reversely decreasing correcting the base ignition timing not to an advance side from the minimum ignition timing (MBT), by comparing corrected ignition timing with the MBT and outputting an ignition timing control signal in a delay timing side to an ignition device. CONSTITUTION:A base ignition timing setting means 10 sets the base ignition timing from a map 11 in accordance with an engine operative condition of an engine speed sensor 2 and an air flow sensor 3 or the like, and an ignition timing correcting means 12 performs idle speed correction and abnormally low speed correction to be added to the base ignition timing. This corrected ignition timing is compared in a comparing means 14 with MBT (minimum ignition timing of an engine able to output the optimum torque) of a map 13, and on the basis of this compared result, a control means 15, which selects the ignition timing in a delay timing side outputting a control signal through a water temperature correcting means 16 and a driving circuit 17 and turning off a power transistor 7, applies ignition voltage to a spark plug. In this way, the engine, correcting the ignition timing not to an advance timing side from the MBT, eliminates a trouble of engine stop or the like by reversely decreasing the torque, and reliability improves.
