PURPOSE:To restrain the generation of strong lifting sound due to cavity resonance of a valve plug adapted to change the opening degree of a fluid control opening, by dividing the cavity of the valve plug into a plurality of small chambers along the axial direction with the use of partition walls. CONSTITUTION:A valve seat 16 onto which the lower seat part 17 of a valve plug 15 is adapted to seat when upon fully closing, is formed in the lower section of a fluid control opening 11 in the inner peripheral wall of a cage 8. A cavity 20 in a valve plug 15 is divided by a plurality of thin partition walls 25 having surfaces parallel with the axis of the plug 15 and orthogonal to each other, into several small chambers 20a-20n. With this arrangement, it is difficult to establish a feed-back loop system through the intermediary of acoustic sound waves between a jet stream J and the cavity 20, thereby it is possible to restrain the entire valve plug 15 from resonating.
