<p>PURPOSE:To enable a device to be inexpensively constructed and facilitate easier control, by a construction wherein thermal heads are driven by a single driver, and respective terminals of the heads are sequentially connected to the driver while preventing lead-out patterns from intersecting with each other. CONSTITUTION:An odd-numbered dot printing data group SD1 comprising non- printing data '0' at even-numbered positions arranged alternately and serially with odd-numbered dot printing data D1, D3, D5...D255 and an even dot printing data group SD2 comprising non-printing data '0' at odd-numbered positions arranged alternately and serially with even dot printing data D2, D4, D6...D256 are alternately inputted to a shift register SR. While one of the printing data groups is latched by a latch circuit L and thermal heads R1-R256 are driven by a driver DR, the other printing data group is inputted to the shift register SR. With this arrangement, terminals of the thermal heads R1-R256 can be connected to the driver DR while preventing lead-out patterns from intersecting with each other, so that the lead-out patterns for connection is simplified, and the driver can be controlled by a single gate signal.</p> |
