PURPOSE:To enable provision of a normally effective resonance effect, by a method wherein a pair of right and left collecting pipes, extended axially of a crank shaft, are disposed in a V-bank central space, and the two collecting pipes are intercommunicated through a dividing switching means, and a suction period switching means is mounted to each collecting pipe. CONSTITUTION:Two cylinder groups, which are not in the adjoining ignition order, are formed with three cylinders 3L of a left bank part 1L and three cylinders 3R of a right bank part 1R, and a pair of collecting pipes 11L and 11R are disposed in a V bank central space V. Suction ports 4L and 4R are connected to the collecting pipes 11L and 11R through branch intake air pipes 12L and 12R. The collecting pipes 11L and 11R are connected to a pressure inversion part 15 through passages 13L and 13R for resonance, respectively. The passages 13L and 13R for resonance are intercommunicated in the vicinity of the collecting pipes 11L and 11R through a communicating pipe 18, and timing valves 31L and 31R for regulating a suction period are situated in the collecting pipes 11L and 11R, respectively.
