<p>The engine has a piston reciprocating in a cylinder. The piston rod is pinned at its outer end to a lip on a cam ring. The cam ring is attached to a pinion wheel which is forced into engagement with an internally toothed gear wheel, to drive the output shaft through a planet gear. The cam ring has a further lip which is pinned to a guide rod whose other end is pinned to a fixed point on the engine casing. The speed of the shaft in relation to piston velocity can be adjusted by alteration of the length of the guide rod.</p> |
