PURPOSE:To remove the occurrence of sag in a video signal in the subsequent segment of an additional period in transmitting a mixed signal at the time of recording by permitting the signal in the last line of the preceding additional period. CONSTITUTION:The wide band video signal and the clock signal of an original signal are supplied to an A/D converter 21 in a mixed circuit 20, and data in which the original signal is sampled and quantized is transmitted to a mem ory circuit 22. A signal S1 inputted from a control circuit 11 to the circuit 22 controls the writing into the circuit 22 and the reading of data concerning the original signal. In the additional period provided in joint parts of respective segments obtained by dividing one filed into two at the time of reading data from the circuit 22, the video signal in the last line having one horizontal scan cycle is controlled to successively and repeatedly be read and is set to the signal in the additional period. The read data 16 is D/A converted 23 and is set to a mixed signal 17.
