METHOD FOR DRAWING TITANIUM ALLOY WIRE ROD

PURPOSE:To well soften a material and enhance the ductility by forming an oxide film on the material softened by vacuum annealing, minimizing the depth of a surface hardened layer formed by gas absorption, lubricating the material and drawing it. CONSTITUTION:A Ti alloy wire rod is softened by vacuum annealing and an oxide film is formed on the surface of the wire rod by oxidation treatment at 450-750 deg.C. The depth of a surface hardened layer formed by gas absorption is restricted to <=4/100mm. The wire rod is then lubricated and drawn.
