PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of metal at high temp. by adding benzotriazole or 3,5-dialkyldithiothiadiazole and a compound represented by a specified formula to lubricating oil or the like. CONSTITUTION:The titled inhibitor contains one or more kinds of benzotriazoles or 4-18C 3,5-dialkyldithiothiadiazoles and one or more kinds of compounds represented by a general formula (R-COO)nR' or (R-COOCH2)4C as effective components. In the formula, R is 3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxyphenylethylene, R' is 1-22C hydrocarbon, 4-18C alkylene glycol, t-butylphenyl or di-t-butylphenyl, and n is 1 or 2.
