PURPOSE:A high-temperature resistant and high-strength material having improved shelf stability, obtained by adding uniformly noncontinuous glass fibers continuous fibers such as glass fibers, etc., impregnating these fibers with varnish obtained by dissolving hexamethylenetetramine in novolak phenolic resin. CONSTITUTION:Varnish obtained by dissolving hexamethylenetetramine in novolak phenolic resin is impregnated into a fibrous material wherein noncontinuous glass fibers having 10-50mm. length or it and continuous glass fibers and carbon fibers are used, the continuous fibers are arranged in one direction, and the noncontinuous fibers and the continuous fibers are piled at random or in multilayered state, and dried. In the fibrous material, the continuous fibers are preferably piled in a matted state in such a way that they have <=400g/m<2>, preferably <=300g/m<2> per layer, and an amount of them is 0-70wt%, preferably 20-60wt% based on the total amounts of the fibers. Preferably the molding material is preheated by high frequency. EFFECT:Having rapidly setting properties and improved molding properties.
