PURPOSE:To effectively switch the function of a drawn picture input device by using a using state detecting means to secure the automatic switch of functions in response to the detected using state. CONSTITUTION:A CRT 1, a digitizer 2a and an input pen 2b are connected to a drawn picture input device 3 and a control means 4 is added to the device 3. The pen 2b contains a pen point switch 5, an eraser switch 6, a color selection volume 7 including a potentiometer, etc., and a color display window 8. Thus the normal input of drawn pictures is carried out as conventional by means of the digitizer 2a and the pen 2b and then erased by turning on the switch 6. In addition, the selection of colors is possible with rotation of the volume 7 and the selected color is displayed on the window 8. In such a way, the switch of functions is carried out effectively with a drawn picture input device.
