Lead recovery from spent battery filler

摘要

Pb is recovered from the filler or desulphurised material of used batteries by (a) leaching with an aq. soln. of an acid selected from those suitable for a subsequent electrolytic extn. stage; (b) treating with H2O2 for quantitative redn. of PbO2 to form Pb(II) ions - Pb4+ + H2O2 = Pb2+ + O2 + 2H+ Pb + Pb4+ = 2Pb2+ - and (c) sepg. solid residues from the resulting lead-contg. soln. which can be supplied directly for electrolytic Pb extn.
