PURPOSE:To reduce the transition magnetic flux density at the connection of an iron core and to reduce iron loss by changing the number of step laps to increase an effective section area toward a surface layer where the magnetic flux density is gradually made higher in a D type yoke. CONSTITUTION:In the iron core of a core type transformer which provides a yoke wherein the shape of the section is nearly a D-shape, the number of step laps is changed, e.g., one step, three steps or five steps to increase the effective sectional area to the direction of lamination according to the surface layer of the iron core of a block A or block B in the iron core connection of a leg 1 and the yoke 2. This alleviates the transition magnetic flux density at the connection since the position of the connection is shifted to the direction of lamination step by step, iron loss is reduced at the connection and the characteristics such as an exciting current or a noise can greatly be improved.
