PURPOSE:To obtain the spectrally sensitized titled material by providing at least one layer contg. one kind of a specific azaazulenium on a substrate, thereby improving photosensitivity. CONSTITUTION:At least one layer contg. at least one kind of the compd. shown by the formula is provided in the titled material composed of a substrate body and a silver halide emulsion layer. In case that the compd. shown by the formula is incorporated in the silver halide emulsion layer, as a photographic sensitizer and sensitizing dye or desensitizer and desensitizing dye, the compounding amount of said compd. is 5X10<-7>-1X10<-2>mol, preferably 5-10<-6>-5X10<-3>mol per 1mol of silver halide. Thus, the spectrally sensitized area is given to the titled material, and the photosensitive area of the silver halide is enlarged, thereby increasing the sensitivity of the titled material. |
