PURPOSE:To enhance the navigation accuracy of a vehicle, by synthetically judging whether the running route of the vehicle estimated on the basis of an azimuth vector is proper, with reference to attached list data at each time when the vehicle passes a crossing. CONSTITUTION:The data constituted as an attached list by allotting a number at every road connecting two crossings and respectively plotting an interval distance and an azimuth is recorded on an information recording medium 7 along with the corresponding road map. Next, a memory apparatus 5 reads the road map data inputted through the information recording medium 7 at any time to send the same in a central processing unit 2. The central processing unit 2 estimates the locus data of a vehicle reaching the present place while writes the azimuth vector based on the azimuth data detected by an earth magnetism sensor 4 on the road map read from the memory apparatus 5 by setting the present place obtained at the time of the previous estimation as a start point at each time when the vehicle runs over a definite distance. Then, on the reference to the attached list data at each time when the vehicle passes a crossing, it is synthetically judged whether the running route of the vehicle estimated on the basis of the azimuth vector is proper. |
