PURPOSE:To prevent errors in an optical path length extending from an original to an image sensor, by mounting the pulling-out side one of two sockets on a lamp frame and retreating a socket holder from the axis of a light source lamp by pulling out one end of the lamp frame from an opening. CONSTITUTION:It is designed in this structure that a lamp frame 20 holding a light source lamp 12 is attached in a guide groove 21 provided in a carrier frame 7, on which a reading unit 3 is mounted, etc., under a slidable condition so that one end of the lamp 12 can be pulled out in the axial direction P from an opening 6 provided in a box body 1. Furthermore, it is also arranged that the pulling-out side one 22 of two sockets 22 and 23 which are respectively mounted on both ends of the lamp frame 20 and practically support the lamp 12 can be retreated from the axis P of the lamp 12 by, for example, mounting a socket holder on the lamp frame 20 in such a state that the holder 24 can be turned around the pin 27 of the frame 20. Therefore, the need of removing the top glass plate or whole lamp unit while lamp exchange is eliminated and the possibility of an error in the optical path length is eliminated.
