PURPOSE:To grasp the whole outline of a large logic diagram at a glance by providing a means for extracting an important element on a controlling structure such as a processing in the logic diagram according to a designated control level, and displaying the extracted constituting element of the logic diagram on a display as an outline display. CONSTITUTION:When an outline display instruction and the designation of the control level are inputted by an outline display instruction input processing part 12, the control level of the respective records of the logic diagram is decided by a control level decision part 13 and the outline display according to the control level is edited by a logic diagram constituting element extracting part 14. Then, the outline display 18 is displayed by an outline display output processing part 15. Thereby, a program developer or a maintenaner or the like shown according to the logic diagram 19 can simply grasp the whole outline of the logic diagram 19.
