PURPOSE:To facilitate to decide a PID constant of a controller and to allow the titled method to cope with the replacement of the controller simply by devising the method such that a transfer function of the controller controlling a process is identified by deciding a time constant of a system being a variable. CONSTITUTION:A transfer function Gc(S) of the controller applying PID control to a process is identified by a system time constant Tm, a process time constant (T1, T2), and a function of a process dead time Td and a process gain K to execute the PID control of the process. The transfer function Gc(S) of the controller is identified by deciding the system time constant Tb being a sole variable. Thus, the PID constant of the controller controlling the process is decided easily and the replacement of the controller due to a fault or the like is coped with simply.
