PURPOSE:To automatically and surely detect the end of a film by detecting the end of the film on the basis of the detected results of a 1st detecting means for detecting a film carrying distance and a 2nd detecting means for detecting the rotational frequency of a motor fixed to a delivery reel. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with an encoder 13 to be the 1st detecting means driven by a capstan roll 7 to generate a pulse when a microfilm F is moved by 1mm and an encoder 14 to be the 2nd detecting means directly built in a winding motor 10 to generate a pulse at the time of rotating the motor 10 by one revolution. The end of the film F is detected on the basis of the detected results of the 1st and 2nd detecting means 13, 14. When the end of the film F is automatically detected by said procedure, film carrying is stopped. Consequently, the end of the film F can be automatically and surely detected and the film can be stopped without a break.
