The apparatus can be operated by a single individual and comprises, in a conventional manner, a respirator bag (1) a patient adaptor (2), such as a respiration mask or an incubation tube, a patient valve (3) and a connection line (4) between the respirator bag (1) and the patient valve (3). The respirator bag (1) is placed on the sternum of the patient. A relief facility (8) is provided by means of which at the end of the compression path of the respirator bag (1), the patient valve (3) is influenced in such a way that the exhalation is by necessity guaranteed via the outlet opening (17) of the patient valve (3). The cardiac massage can then be carried out directly. It is not necessary to pay particular attention to the fact that the patient has exhaled. <IMAGE> |
