PURPOSE:To effectively diffuse replenishment toner with high solidity into a developer in case of feeding the toner by dispersing the toner into toner carrier in a separation room divided by a diaphragm in a developer tank to prepare a high-concentration developer and feeding the prepared developer into the developer tank. CONSTITUTION:The separation room 9 is formed by dividing a part of the developing tank 50F by the diaphragm 80 and a liquid developer with density to be directly used for development is stored in the tank 50F. A pump P1 sucks a liquid in the separation room 9 and also sucks the replenishment toner with high solidity stored in a high-solidity toner bottle 11 from a pipe 12 by the action of a pump P3. The pump P1 stirs and disperses respective liquids in a pump casing and discharges the dispersed solution into the solution in the separation room 9 through discharge pipes 13, 14. Thus, a high-concentration developer with intermediate solidity is formed, and when the toner concentration in the tank 50F is reduced and toner feeding is required, a flow channel is switched by a solenoid two-way valve V1 and the replenishment toner is discharged into the tank 50F by a pump P2 through a discharge pipe 17.
