PURPOSE:To execute the angle adjustment of a head easily and in a short time by detecting a light reflected from magnetic media through a magnetic head and adjusting the angle of the magnetic head in accordance with the strength of the detected reflecting light. CONSTITUTION:Onto a magnetic head 8, a light generated from a light source 16, reflected by a half mirror 17 and converged by a lens 18 is made incident. The incident light arrives through a transparent insulating film 15 and a protecting film 4 at magnetic media 19. When the media of the high reflection factor of the light, for example, CoCr vertical media are used as the media 19, the incident light is reflected and a head 8 is passed through again. The strength of the reflecting light is detected by a photodetecting device 20. The feedback is applied to a head angle adjusting device 21 by the electric signal in accordance with the strength, the angle to the media of the head can be optimized in a short time. |
