PURPOSE:To suppress the Barkhausen noise generation by setting to a magnetostrictive constant<0 when the internal stress of first and second yokes is the internal stress>0 and setting to a magnetostrictive constant>0 when the stress is the internal stress<0. CONSTITUTION:When the internal stress of a first yoke 6 and a second yoke 7 is an internal stress>0, the magnetostrictive constant of a magneto-resistance effect element MR 4 is set to a magnetostrictive constant<0. On the other hand, when the internal stress is an internal stress<0, the magnetostrictive constant is set to a magnetostrictive constant>0. Thus, the direction of the magnetic different direction of the MR 4 which is stress-induced by the internal stress to occur at yokes 6 and 7 can be coincident to the direction of the inherent inducing magnetic different direction of the MR 4. As the result, the generation of the anisotropic dispersion in the MR 4 is prevented and the Barkhausen noise is minimized. Therefore, the magneto-resistance effect type thin film head to be able to reproduce faithfully a signal from magnetic recording media can be obtained. |
