PURPOSE:To prevent a wire electrode from being deflected due to discharge pressure or being strained due to the properties of the electrode itself, by applying high- frequency vibration to the wire electrode in its axial direction to continuously change the tension of the electrode in a prescribed range. CONSTITUTION:A guide roller 8 is fitted with a high-frequency vibrator 13 so that vertical high-frequency vibration is applied to the guide roller. High-frequency vibration is applied to a wire electrode 4 in its axial direction so that the tension of the electrode fluctuates in a prescribed range depending on the high-frequency vibration. The amplitude of the vibration of the vibrator 13 is several to scores of microns. |
