PURPOSE:To adjust a hue to a modulated signal and a signal which is not modulated by once modulating a chrominance signal, demodulating and outputting even in the case of the chrominance signal which is not modulated. CONSTITUTION:Initially, at the time of recording, an input color television signal Vi is supplied to a comb-line filter 1 through a switch SW, herein separated to a luminance signal Y+S and a chrominance signal C. The luminance signal Y+S is directly inputted to a recording and reproducing circuit 3, the chrominance signal C is decoded in a chroma decoder 2, and inputted to the recording and reproducing circuit 3. At the time of reproducing, the recording and reproducing circuit 3 reproduces a linearly sequential color difference signal Vc from a medium, balanced modulates it in a balanced modulating circuit 5 and supplies to the comb-line filter 1. The hue of the chrominance signal is adjusted to be changed by a variable resistance 13. The output chrominance signal of the comb-line filter 1 is demodulated in the chroma decoder 2, sent to an RGB matrix 4 to output a primary color signal.
