Granular food for animals is distributed periodically in doses which are adjustable as required. The time period is also adjustable to suit animal feeding habits. The assembly may be mounted on or above the ground or above water. A conical hopper (2) is supported by a parallel sided casing (1) whose base (3) rocks about an axis (4). An interior wall (5) isolates compartments (6, 7) for electronic circuits and batteries. The hopper has an outlet (8) controlled by a valve (9) operated by an electromagnet (10) acting against a spring (11). The base has a counterweight (12) acting against the weight of feed (7) and activates a probe (13) on a microswitch (14) in the electromagnet circuit. A second electromagnet assembly (22) ensures that the weight contained is evacuated. |
