PURPOSE:To uniformly stick a potash compound on the surface of a wire and to prevent the falling of the stuck potash compound by sticking the potash compound in the specified amount on the surface of the wire having the groove in the specified depth and width for the wire outer periphery and performing a wire working by executing a roll type wire drawing and oil type skin pass. CONSTITUTION:The groove satisfying the relation of an equation is formed on the surface of a wire. A potash compound is stuck at 1-8ppm per wire wt. at K conversion on the surface of this wire. The original wire of the wire for welding is subjected to wire drawing and after performing a copper plating, if necessary, a dry type wire drawing is performed >=one time by using the lubricant with a potash stearate and/or potassium carbonate as the main component. The oil type skin pass is thereafter executed at least one time and it is worked until the product diameter. With this method an arc is stabilized without its unsteadyness, the falling of the potash compound can be prevented and the welding with less spatters can be performed. |
