PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of large impact sound caused between a valve flange part and a stopper during operation, by providing grooves at least on either the respective abutting surfaces of the flange part of a solenoid- operated fuel injection valve or the stopper thereof. CONSTITUTION:If an input signal receiving part receives an electrical signal for a given time in a given period, a movable iron core 8 is attracted by a fixed iron core 4 having a coil 2. Accordingly, the slide member 9 on which the movable iron core 8 is fitted is attracted at the same time, so that it is abutted on a stopper 17 to stop. At that time, a ball valve 10 opens the fuel injection hole to inject fuel. Now, on the surface of the flange part 21 of a slide member (valve) abutting on the stopper 17, grooves are provided radially toward the center of the valve spindle. Therefore, the abutting are between the flange part 21 and the stopper 17 in the case of impact is reduced and the propagation of impact sound is lessened. Thus, the unpleasant feeling to a driver can be decreased.
