PURPOSE:To facilitate maintenance working by making the discharge port part of a vacuum pump as a separate piece to the casing so as to be detachable. CONSTITUTION:A pump rotor is driven by a bull gear 13 which is connected to the shaft of a motor 12, and on the right and left sides of the casing 7, a suction port 7a on one side and a discharge port 15 on the opposite side are provided. The discharge port 15 is made up of a separate piece different from the casing 7, and is fixed to the casing 7 by means of bolts 16. When the product adhered to the discharge port due to active gas is to be cleaned, the removal of bolts 16 enables the removal of the discharge port 15, thus the maintenance working can be facilitated.
