PURPOSE:To obtain a coating compd. for under coating having excellent electrical conductivity, light shieldability, surface smoothness, adhesiveness, etc. by dispersing a carbon black into a soln. prepd. by dissolving a polyester resin into a mixture composed of specific org. solvents. CONSTITUTION:0.5mol isophthalic acid, 0.4mol terephthalic acid, 0.1mol sulfosodium isophthalic acid, 1.6mol ethylene glycol, and 0.4mol neopenthyl glycol are brought into ester reaction with zinc acetate as a catalyst at about 200 deg.C and are further heated to about 250 deg.C under <=1mmHg with antimony trioxide as a catalyst to effect polycondensation reaction to produce the polyester resin having 9,200 poise melt viscosity and 130 deg.C flow initiating temp. 286pts. cyclohexanone, 286pts. dioxane and 79 parts PGME are added to such resin per 100pts. coarse granular matter of said resin and the mixture is stirred under heating to prepare a soln.; thereafter, 24pts. BP 2,000 is added as highly conductive carbon black thereto and is dispersed for 160hr by a ball mill, by which the coating compd. is prepd.
