PURPOSE:To obtain a multichannel type rotary joint by forming butted side optical coupling systems and I/O side optical coupling systems corresponding to the number of channels on two joint parts butted and coupled with each other so as to be optionally rotated. CONSTITUTION:Two pairs of butted side optical coupling systems 25, 26 and 27, 28 for the 1st and 2nd channels which transmit/receive light between optical coupling systems in the same channel are arranged on the butted end faces 23, 24 of two joint parts 21, 22. The optical coupling systems 25, 27 are formed by using a part of band fibers 29, 31 and the optical coupling systems 26, 28 are formed by using a part of band fibers 30, 31. On the other hand, I/O side optical coupling systems 69, 71 and 70, 72 for coupling external single core fibers 65, 67 and 66, 68 with the band fibers 29, 31 and 30, 32 are formed on the I/O ports 61, 62 of the joint parts 21, 22. Thus, the multichannel type optical rotary joint can be obtained. |
