PURPOSE:To obtain a program selection input device with good operability and high surity by designating an input of a program selection number and displayed content so as to designate the program. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 11 inputs a selection number or symbol from a keyboard 2 while selection symbols (a) of A, I, U, E, O, K, a program selection number (b) and a program content (c) the displayed on a display device 3. In case of a selection number, a corresponding program number is seeked and when the said number exists, the select processing is finished. When no number exists, it is canceled and the input of selection number or signal is awaited. When the input is a symbol, whether or not the symbol is A, I-K is checked and when it is the symbol, the corresponding program is searched. When the said program exists, the select processing is finished, and when not, it is canceled and the selection number of symbol input is awaited.
