PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of bevelling working and the whole bevelling operations by moving the prism side to set the prism side to a grinding location section in an optimum position corresponding to a grinding wheel, while grinding desired portions. CONSTITUTION:In an apparatus for bevelling prisms used for cameras or the like, a work from the supply side is gripped by a robot section 2 and at first supplied to a grinding location section 31 of a grinding unit 3 after check with respect to its position. The work is inserted into a V-shaped groove in a grinding bed from the ridgeline B21 side of the prism to project said ridgeline B21 from a slot so that the ridgeline B21 is grounded by a grinding section 35 as it is. Here in the grinding wheel section 35, a grinding wheel body is driven by a motor, and the ridgeline B21 bears against the surface of a grinding wheel piece of this grinding wheel body to be ground. Thus, the efficiency of the bevelling working and the whole bevelling operations can be improved. |
