PURPOSE:To electrically heat a rolling material by preventing the stray current to the rolling mill by using the plural electrodes provided along the transferring direction of the rolling material and by electrifying the rolling material with the electrode of the rolling mill side which rolls the rolling material as an earthing electrode. CONSTITUTION:The position of a sheet bar 10 is detected by a heat piece detector 26 and the electrode 18A or 18B of the roughing mill 12 or finishing mill 16 side is connected to a grounding electrode 24 by switching device 20A, 20B in the electric heating method for a rolling material to heat the sheet bar 10 with the electrification to a pair of electrode 18A, 18B and sheet bar 10 by power source device 22 by providing the at least pair of electrodes 18A, 18B along the transfer direction on the transfer system path which transfers to the finishing mill 16 by the insulated table roll 14 the sheet bar 10 rolled by the roughing mill 12. The trouble by electrical contact of the roll bearing is thus prevented by eliminating the stray current passed to the mill rolling the sheet bar 10. |
