PURPOSE:To designate and read out the document of the personal word processor of an opponent and to receive it, by adding a communication function on the personal word processor. CONSTITUTION:In the personal word processors 1 and 5, control procedures to perform the transmission of the document between document preparing devices are prepared as application programs. And the program is loaded at need, and an opposite device is called via a telephone line 9, and after a mutual transmission/reception mode is established, the transmission of the document is performed between two devices. A document data transmitted at that time is constituted of a bit of modifying information set at every document or row unit, a number and a title, external character patterns stored in the personal word processors 1 and 5, and other control information, etc.
