PURPOSE:To obtain a reproduced R, G, B signals without deteriorating a picture quality according to a simple constitution by generating the R, G, B signals by using a chrominance signal converted to a luminance signal and a base band signal. CONSTITUTION:A signal reproduced by magnetic heads 1a, 1b is alternately supplied to a reproducing amplifier 3 through a change over switch 2, after amplifying, supplied to HPF4, LPF8, APC12. In the HPF4, the luminance signal distributed in the high frequency side of the reproduced signal is decomposed and supplied to an FM demodulating circuit 5. In the LPF 8, a low frequency converted carrier chrominance signal disposed in the low frequency side of the reproduced signal is separated and further, a carrier chrominance signal from which a frequency fluctuating part at the time of a reproduction is outputted from a frequency converting circuit 9 by a frequency converting circuit 9 and a APC loop. A signal outputted from the frequency converting circuit 9 is supplied to a color difference signal demodulating circuit 16 through a BPF10 and after demodulating, the R, G, B signals are outputted in a matrix circuit 19.
