PRODUCTION OF STEEL SHEET FOR CAN

摘要

PURPOSE:To produce a steel sheet for a can having superior corrosion resistance and weldability at a low cost by forming Ni and Cr layers on the surface of a cold rolled steel sheet by plating in a specified ratio and by heating the steel sheet at a specified temp. to form a thin stainless steel layer on the surface of the steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a cold rolled steel sheet as stock for a steel sheet for a can is cleaned by degreasing and pickling. The cleaned surface is successively plated with 0.04-0.28g/m<2> Ni and 0.06-0.42g/m<2> Cr in 1.5-3.0 ratio of Cr/Ni. The steel sheet having formed Ni and Cr layers is annealed at 630-730 deg.C for 20-60sec in an atmosphere of N2 contg. 5% H2 to form a thin 18-8 stainless steel film on the surface of the steel sheet. The steel sheet is then temper-rolled to produce a steel sheet for a can having superior corrosion resistance and weldability.
