PURPOSE:To accurately take a measurement of size even if respective cameras have different visual fields in case of the use of the plural cameras by inputting visual field correction data on sensors of the cameras and calibrating the actual measured size with the data. CONSTITUTION:A reference gauge 3 which is installed on a measurement reference surface 1 and has its X-directional size determined is irradiated with luminous flux D, the boundary between binarization black and white bits is extracted by arithmetic operation, and the visual field correction data on the sensors are calculated by arithmetic operation based on the relation between the extracted data and the determined size of the reference gauge 3 and stored in a memory 18 for the correction data. A body to be measured is irradiated with the luminous flux D, the boundary between binarization black and white bits is calculated as size data indicating the size of the irradiated part of the body to be measured, and the size of the object body is calculated by arithmetic operation based on the visual field correction data and outputted. Consequently, even if the cameras having deviation in the size (resolution) of a visual field, the influence of it is eliminated and the size is accurately measured.
