NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula (R<1> is H, alkyl, alkoxy, halogen or nitro; R<2> is H, alkanoyl or alkyl; R<3> is R<1>; R<4> and R<5> are H or alkyl; R<6> is H, alkyl, phenyl or naphthyl; R<7> is alkyl, phenylalkoxy or phenyl; R<8> is H, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, halogen, cyano or alkanoylamino; n is 0 or 1; X is S or CH2). EXAMPLE:(+)-3-Acetyl-2-[ 2-[ ( 2S )-1-benzyloxycarbonyl )pyrrolidin-2-ylcarbonyl oxy]-5-methoxyphenyl]benzothiazoline. USE:A synthetic intermediate for optically active compounds having calcium antagonistic action. PREPARATION:A racemic phenolic derivative expressed by formula II is reacted with an optically active carboxylic acid expressed by formula II to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I.
