PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition having excellent melt-kneadability to various resins and exhibiting excellent heat-resistance and abrasion resistance, by compounding a specific heat-treated phenol formaldehyde resin to a thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is composed mainly of (A) a resin produced from a granular or powdery phenol formaldehyde resin containing spherical primary particles of 0.1-150mum in diameter and its secondary aggregate, passing through a 100 Tyler mesh sieve at a yield of >=50wt% and a methanol solubility of >=20% as a raw material by heat-treating the resin in a non-oxidizing atmosphere at 200-500 deg.C and (B) a thermoplastic resin. The amount of the component A is 5-80wt%. The non-oxidizing atmosphere is helium, argon, hydrogen or CO free from molecular oxygen. The heat-treatment temperature is preferably 280-380 deg.C.
