PURPOSE:To quantitatively know the capability of a flux and to enable the selection of flux and the adjustment of the capability in advance by dipping a test piece into the flux for soldering and measuring the density of the test piece material component eluated in the flux. CONSTITUTION:In case of soldering an iron-nickel alloy, for instance, the test piece cut in about 3X3cm<2> is prepared in two pieces, one sheet is left at room temp., another sheet is heated for 2min at about 400 deg.C, and dipped into a flux for about 20min respectively. The metal component density of the respective test piece eluated in the flux is thereafter measured by an atomic absorption analysis instrument or ICP emission analysis instrument, etc. The flux is properly estimated by comparing this measured data with test data and the selection thereof and capacity adjustment are performed.
