PURPOSE:To enable high-speed printing with high resolution without adding a softener, which would cause ground contamination or bleeding, by using a fatty acid ester, paraffin wax and microcrystalline wax as a binder for a heat- fusible ink, with the proportions of the three materials restricted to within specified ranges. CONSTITUTION:Microcrystalline wax being plastic, highly viscous and having an excellent film-forming ability is used in addition to a fatty acid ester and paraffin wax. The proportions of the fatty acid ester, the paraffin wax and the microcrystalline wax used are specified within the ranges of 10-20 wt.%, 60-80 wt.% and 10-20 wt.%, respectively. With this arrangement, it is possible to impart softness to a heat-fusible ink, even without using a softener which is liquid or semi-solid at normal temperature, and making it possible to form a film with few crazes or cracks, thereby obviating ground contamination or bleeding, which might arise from the addition of the softener. Besides, properties of the ink are well-balanced, and it is possible to maintain both reflection density and transfer area ratio in respective appropriate ranges. |
