PURPOSE:To increase the safety of a battery by winding an electrode group so that the negative light metal plate of a negative plate is faced onto the outside of the winding end of a positive plate. CONSTITUTION:A negative plate 2 is formed by press-bonding a belt-like thin metal plate 22 serving as a negative current collector onto the end of a belt-like light metal plate 21 serving as a negative active material. A positive plate 1 is obtained by fixing a positive current collecting rod 4 to the end of a positive current collector 11 and applying a positive mix 12 to the current collector 11. The positive plate 1 and the negative plate 2 are stacked through a separator 3, and they are wound round the current collecting rod 4 so that the light metal plate 21 is faced onto the outside of the winding end of the positive plate 1. Thereby, the safety of a battery is increased. |
