PURPOSE:To obtain a good image, by providing a means for applying heat in pattern onto the surface of a recording material having a first porous layer impregnated with thermally fusible ink and a second porous layer being laid thereon with the first and second porous layers being formed into stripes, then applying a constant tensile force through a plurality of shafts. CONSTITUTION:A first porous layer 1a composed of ester series or ether series sponge is provided onto a stripe base 1c composed of soft plastic in a recording material 1, then a second porous thin film layer composed of porous ethylene tetrafluoride is laminated onto the outer face thereof and a constant tensile force is applied by means of the shafts 7a, 7b. An image information signal is fed to a heating section 4 so as to heat the heating elements 5 arranged in an array, then the heat is transmitted to the second porous thin film layer 1b and the first porous layer 1a so as to lower the viscosity of thermally fusable ink impregnated therein. The ink forms an ink image corresponding to the heated portion onto the second porous thin film layer 1b. The ink layer is transferred onto a recording medium 3 being pressed by means of a platen roller 6 so as to form an image onto the recording medium 3. |
