PURPOSE:To easily increase the casting velocity without any trouble, such as molten metal insertion, molten metal leakage, etc., and to obtain a cast billet having clean surface by synchronizing the shifting the shifting velocity of a mold with the drawing velocity of the cast billet. CONSTITUTION:The mold is formed by four assembling molds 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 5-4 and the molten metal 2 is poured in the mold from a tundish 1 through an immersion nozzle 3. After the mold is perfectly connected, the mold is shifted downward as synchronizing with the drawing velocity of cast billet, and at the position of the mold 5-4, which the cast billet is cooled and solidified, each dividable mold is shifted toward Z direction to divide apart from the cast billet 7. At the position below the mold 5-4, the cast billet 7 is drawn by the pinch rolls 6. The divided molds are shifted upward, that is, toward W direction, and is recirculated as the molds 5-1-a and 5-1-b and repeats the same action.
