PURPOSE:To easily and simply perform the processing of data, by setting a frequency at the time of inversely converting the frequency in relation to the frequency of sampling, when a reproducing signal is processed by sampling in a VTR. CONSTITUTION:In A/D conversion, the sampling is performed with a sampling frequency of four times the carrier frequency of a false carrier chroma signal. Also, by supplying a digital chroma signal from an A/D converter 12 to a digital decode circuit 23 driven by a sampling pulse, for example, the signals(digital) of the U-axis and the V-axis of the chroma signal can be separated accurately. And the digital signals of the U-and V-axes are supplied to a memory 10. Furthermore, the memory 10 is controlled by a process control circuit 24 to which the sampling pulse is supplied, and the above stated digital luminance signal, and the digital signals of the U-and V-axes are written on the memory 10, and also, those written signals are processed arbitrarily.
